Hello Kidz Klub!
Today, we will continue exploring Easter traditions by spotlighting the ever favorite … Easter Basket!
Growing up, my Auntie Jean was in charge of preparing the Easter Basket for each of us kids. There were eight kids she prepared for: me and my three siblings and four of my cousins who lived close by. I’m not sure how Auntie Jean became in charge of the baskets; I just remember that it was a tradition she happily continued year after year.
She filled our large baskets with toys, games, and of course … candy! What was so special about the baskets was that she filled each one with our personal favorite items and candy, making our baskets unique to each of us. My basket was filled with my favorites: coloring books, Nancy Drew books, pickup sticks and other travel sized games, Cadbury eggs, jelly beans, Peeps (anything marshmellow), chocolate eggs, and of course the chocolate bunny!
In today’s Learning Center, I am sharing fun informational links of some of my favorite Easter Basket items, as well as different historical takes of how the Easter Basket became an Easter tradition. I am also including more Easter themed read aloud stories. And my Master Chef, Junior recipe is my ultimate, favorite chocolate treat!
Be Safe. Be healthy. Enjoy!
Take good care.
Miss Charisse
